Wonderfully carved pumpkins! Great artwork! I've visited several times, enjoy it more each time. This time I read much of what you said on copyright. It seems most can't get enough of the little emoticons, especially the little green jumpy guy.

To repeat what several others have said, you do have incredible talent and it is refreshing to see an artist who crosses into several mediums, instead of just one. I googled "pumpkin carving," to see if I could find anything really creative and I am so thankful I found your site.

I really loved the prenatal pumpkin, the angel, and the kingdom is divided. Among the others, of course (because all of them were really amazing)!

But, as incredible as the pumkins were, as well as your paintings, drawings and murals...I would have to say that the FAQ takes the cake. That made me laugh pretty hard. I think the best thing about it are those people that mention the FAQ, and yet say similar things to what you mentioned IN the FAQ.

Oh, wonderful. Hope you had a great Halloween and I will definitely keep up with this site next year. God bless.

You are so talented. I bet you could probably carve wood, anything, etc. I was pleasently surprised to find that we
just live down the road from ya'll. Was
wondering if you have someplace you show your work during Oct. Would love to come see it since it isn't very far.
Please keep up the good work I will keep your site in my "favorites" and will pass your site to my friends. Thanks for making my day. Kat Logan

These are works of ART! Great site you have put together--I've been living in Norway for 40 yrs now, but the pumpkin-tradition hasn't quite caught on...YET. Costumes, yes, but not everybody likes the idea of adopting such "foreign traditions"! And some kids/grown-ups who have misunderstood the meaning of Hallowe'en also MIS-use it to create havoc...NOT funny at all.

You have a very unique way of carving the pumpkins. Has anyone ever asked you to create them for a party or something? Like the white house. Anyway I really enjoy looking at your pumpkins and thinking about how talented some people are. Great Job Keep the pumpkin galleries coming...you should find other things to carve during different seasons like watermelons in the summer!!!!

Hi Scott -

A friend sent me your website of carved pumpkins this morning, and I couldn't help but be amazed at the high level of design and completion each piece maintained.

About ten years ago, a special effects sculpter produced a series of carved holloween pumpkins (casted in rubber)with interesting features and sold them commerically throughout California. I still have a couple of these pieces.

Have you ever thought about producing your pumpkins for commercial use?

Drop me a line if your interested.

Cheers,

Cliff

I traveled your complete gallery, I think, not missing anything. I love graphics and am so envious of your original artworks. My hobby is Photography and Graphic enhancements done with Paint Shop Pro. I enjoy it and keep hoping I might learn to draw. I am not an artist, only a wannabe, age almost 63.

My son enjoyed carving pumpkins and was quite good at it. He carved for a lot of parties in the Cincinnati Area but none of his were the portrait look you are doing so well. I do a little carving myself as I enjoy playing with it but my carvings are quite a bit less good than my son's were. Example in the picture.

Enjoyed your site immensely. If you have an interest in what I do, you can see some of it here: http://rsblain.blogspot.com/

Hi again - Hey, if that fame, fortune and international attention thing doesn't work out with the pumpkins, I think you could pull it off with writing! I just read your FAQ page and it is hilarious! Ted Nancy should see that - I think he'd like it. God Bless America indeed!

Amazing work! Two years ago I had a friend from Australia visit my family. He arrived just in time for Halloween and was extremely impressed with the work we put into the holiday. He was amazed at some of the local stuff- including artfully-carved template-used pumpkins. I even made him carve a pumpkin- albeit a very basic Jack-o-lantern face.

I've given him the link to your site and he's even more impressed.

You're awesome!

I checked out your website last year after someone sent me the Tennessee Waltz slideshow (like the song, thought it was a strange choice for a pumpkin gutter) I understand you had nothing to do with that. I really enjoyed the website and HAD to see what you've been up to this year. Love your work. And your sense of humor. I've always used the stencil (some original) and jigsaw method but I think I'm going to have to give your method of carving (notice I didn't say sculpting) a try. Looks like fun.

The pumpkin patch I visited this weekend included the following instructions when I bought our pumpkin. I thought of your work so, I'm passing it on.

Fill kitchen sink with cold water.
Add two capfuls of bleach.
Place pumpkin in bleach water.
Gently clean pumpkin with clean cloth or sponge. Do not scrub.
Be sure to clean around stem and bottom of pumplin removing all dirt.
Allow to dry in the sun.

Pumpkins rot formt he outside in, following these deps will kill the bactieria that will cause your pumkin to rot.

After carving pumpkin, coat exposed area with vaseline to seal in moisture.

Your work is worth preserving! Mine, not so much. . . .

Pumkins are an amazing medium because they can be lit within.

What types of carving tools do you use? Lacing tool etc.

Have you ever thought of preserving your pumpkins?

The impermants of pumpkins is what I find unappealing. I've spent hours carving them, but then they only exist for a brief period of time. Perhaps I can save my memories through photographs as you have done.

Nice work! Saw the (unauthorized) pps, that led me to your website. I've posted your address on our forum to get more folks over for a look. You've inspired me to dig out my old woodcarving tools and take a stab at carving.

I usually sit on our front porch Halloween evening and carve our three annual pumpkins. I was initially surpried at how many kids had never seen a person carve a pumpkin. I'm gonna hafta start a few days sooner this year. Thanks so much for the images.

time again to visit your wonderful site - thank you for making it available - I was reminded of it when I received the following message today: Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes
you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you
deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of
doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts
His light inside you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed
on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch. Happy Fall !!

I am completely in awe of your abilities! I was directed to your pumpkin site about a year ago and was amazed at what I saw, but neglected to realize that it was all done by the same artist or that there was more to the web set. Then, I suddenly thought of your pumpkins this morning and searched numerous keywords and phrases for three hours to find my way back to your site!

Now that I've perused your site more thoroughly, I can honestly say that you are absolutely amazing. I've known people who can sketch or generate computer graphics, but never have I seen anyone demonstrate such superb and detailed skill with so many different types of media! You must have the Midas touch because it is obvious that anything you touch turns to gold. Thank you for working to make the world a more beautiful place, and thank you for sharing your special gift.
